Dear Prospective Family,

My name is Laura Spaulding and I am the Director of Admissions and Student Placement at The Joy School.  I began teaching at The Joy School six years ago, after two years in public education.  I have since had the privilege of watching children with learning differences grow, learn and succeed at The Joy School.  My favorite part of working at The Joy School has been the challenge of “figuring kids out,” and the satisfaction of watching them reach their full potential.  

In my current role, I have the unique privilege of working with families in transition, and helping them to find the right school and classroom placement for their children.

I recognize that if you are looking for a special school placement for your child, this is likely a frustrating, confusing and desperate time.  You are not alone in this process and my hope is that in the weeks and months to come you get the answers and support you need.  If I can be of help in this process, please feel free to contact me. 

The best way to really understand our school is to come to a parent tour.  During tours, we make every effort to answer all of your questions and leave you with a strong indication of whether or not The Joy School is the right place for your child.  Thank you for your interest, and I look forward to working with you in the future.
