As Houston is grieving many losses caused by Harvey, we are also trying to repair and salvage what we can.

While books may not be on the top of your priorities list, they provide a needed escape, a way to learn and grow, and something tangible to hold onto, which can be so important following loss.

Here's the good news: it turns out there are many ways to save damp or even wet books! Putting them in the freezer or placing wax paper between the pages are just a few of the tips you can find in this article by the Chronicle.
