SPECIAL MESSAGE:

  • Until further notice, all TJS employees are expected to conduct all professional business only if possible to do so without person to person contact. This includes teaching, tutoring, and any other services that may evolve due to relationships formed from contacts within The Joy School community.

The Joy School offers private academic tutoring for students in kindergarten through the eighth grade.

Elyse Trusell, Program Director, will contact you after submitting the form to discuss your child's tutoring needs. Please contact Elyse at etrusell@thejoyschool.org if you have any other questions.

Who We Serve

Tutoring is available for students who may struggle with learning differences including:

  • dyslexia
  • dysgraphia
  • dyscalculia
  • social pragmatic disorders
  • language delays
  • and more

These services are available for current and prospective students, as well as students from other schools. Our mission is to provide remedial instruction and academic support for students having difficulty in their current school placements, or those who simply need help maintaining their current skills.

About Our Tutors

Our academic tutors are current TJS teachers who are trained in multi-sensory instructional methods for all subjects, including but not limited to reading, decoding, comprehension, spelling, writing and composition, grammar, handwriting, math, spatial awareness and phonological awareness.
